men at work

Today is dailyphotoblog theme day on "Men At Work". We recently had a big fire close to college that made it into all the evening newspapers and apparently even on national TV (I don't watch telly so I don't know if that's true). The fire broke out in a top floor apartment in the Albert Hall Mansions, which is a quite expensive place to live next to Hyde Park and the Royal Albert Hall (which you can also see in the picture). And from the Physics department you could even see this all. Dan studies Physics so he took pictures. And he was so kind to give me permission to use the one where you can see two of the firefighters for today's theme day. Thank you.
Below are all other blogs that take part in today's theme day. Due to the day only just being about to begin it might take a while until all posts for today are in.

That's funny: The first time I get loads of comments and it's on the first photo I have not taken myself!
For those concerned ones amongst you: No one got injured but the damage to the building is believed to be quite significant and the fire was going pretty much all day. But the wind was in a direction that I, working more ore less next door, learned about it in the evening newspaper!
I don't know why, but The Gulf Times, cover the story.
